Announcement: ESPEC Covid-19 Effect on Operations

Wednesday, March 25 2020

Delay of all orders, except for essential infrastructure. Staff working from home.

UPDATE: Extended to 4/30/2020

ESPEC North America has taken many steps over the last three weeks to protect the health and well-being of our employees, suppliers, colleagues, business partners, and customers. The unprecedented situation with Covid-19 is changing daily and requiring continual adjustments to our business practices.

ESPEC North America is now under a “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order issued by Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer. This means that our operations are restricted to producing orders for “Essential” customers. Our facility in Colorado is under a similar government mandated order. These directives will result in unavoidable delays of at least 6 weeks (the current “Stay Home” period) to all non-Essential orders. We hope to return to normal operation by 5/1/2020 but that is dependent upon the duration of local and state “Stay Home” orders. We will continue to closely follow and communicate any change in these orders.

In anticipation of these measures, ESPEC North America equipped our office workforce with the technology needed to work from home. All of our business operations, outside of production, are being handled remotely. We are still processing orders and supporting customers as needed, but mandated restrictions have also impacted our on-site Service and Installation crews and our ability to process Parts orders. Please contact us with any questions, concerns, or needs by phone: 616-896-6710 or e-mail: [email protected] (for support questions) or [email protected] (for sales questions). You can also contact your ESPEC Regional Sales Manager or local Independent Sales Representative if you already have those connections.

While every business is being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, ESPEC North America is working diligently to minimize the impact of current government restrictions and also to maintain our workforce so that we can restart quickly when the restrictions are lifted. We are committed to our employees, customers, and community and are not planning any layoffs or reduction in force. We plan to get through this crisis together with our employees and customers and get back to normal operations as soon as possible.

Please let us know if you are identified as an “Essential” customer so we can address your specific needs. (CISA guidelines on ‘essential infrastructure workforce’)

Most importantly, we want to work with you to keep employees from all of our companies safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Steven R. Wilkening
